Zejian Shen, b. 1987 Beijing, based in New York. 2010 Rhode Island School of Design, 2014 Beijing Film Academy.
Shen's works in acrylic and gouache on canvas and board, utilizes traditional subjects in painting techniques to weave historical and cultural motifs, through a queer Asian diaspora lens, to examine the cult of consumerism and the collective awakening to class consciousness as it relates to the polycrisis.
